Caine Rose developed his photographic vision under the mentorship of his father, a professional photographer and commercial artist. His nearly decade-long career as a photojournalist took him to over fifty countries, documenting warzones, natural disasters, and human rights abuses. Rose achieved rare distinction as one of the few Western journalists to interview Taliban fighters during the Global War on Terror in 2003.

In the early 1990s, he lived with his family in Hollywood Cemetery's historic Gatekeeper's House, deepening his four-decade relationship with this sacred landscape. Rose now lives on a small farm in southern Virginia, where he tends goats and gardens while pursuing his passion for cemetery photography, fulfilling his lifelong dream of authoring this definitive book on Hollywood Cemetery.
