DESCRIPTION
President Harry S. Truman once said, "The only thing new is the history you don't know." It's not too much to suggest he may have anticipated History in Tennessee: Lost Episodes from the Volunteer State's Past, with its accurate sketches about the famous, the infamous, and the not so famous in Tennessee's past, presented in a reader-friendly calendar format.

For each day of the year there are facts and true narratives about various incidents, events, and personalities in the state's colorful history. There is nothing "fake" about them.

Readers will find stories about dueling, prostitution, drug abuse, biographies, the pearl diving industry, evangelists and sermons, juvenile delinquency, murders, confetti, medicine, early aviation, lynchings, sports, and minority history, to mention a few.

As entertaining as a concert at the Grand Ole Opry and as filling as a Miles Darden breakfast, History in Tennessee is both entertaining and educational.
