Sam Sciullo Jr. attended his first Pitt football game in 1965, a few weeks after his sixth birthday. He saw every Panthers’ game at Pitt Stadium from 1966 through 1981. He has been involved in Pitt athletics in a number of capacities since childhood, including seven years (1990–1997) as a member of its sports information office. He also served stints at Texas A&M (1982–1987) and Robert Morris College (1987–1990). He has earned numerous citations for Excellence in Writing and Publications from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He was the editor of Inside Panthers Sports Magazine from 1997–2002, and played a key role in the creation of the McCarl Hall of Champions at Petersen Events Center. He is a member of the selection committee for Pitt’s Athletics Hall of Fame. This is his fifth book about Pitt football.
